1. Kani Ryori Kanetsuna

2. Yuzen Ishioka


This restaurant’s chef, Ishioka Shingo, believes in the saying that you must first learn the rules before you can break them. He may have spent time training at several restaurants across Japan, such as at Ginza, but his heart is leaning toward Hiroshima. He applied what he had learned in this restaurant, which features seasonal delicacies like crabs, Matsutake mushrooms, and river-caught eel and fish. Note that there’s a reservation fee here.

3. Hikizan


Hikizan is a kaiseki restaurant considers itself the treasure house of authentic cuisine and sake. Though they only started in 2020, customers love their seasonal dishes decorated with gorgeous and delectable ingredients. They welcome specific dietary requests.

4. Tōshō Hiroshima


This restaurant is the perfect place if you don’t mind eating with the garden ambiance around you. It manages to freeze part of Japan’s past while setting the scene in synergy with nature. 


Tōshō Hiroshima is famous for being the place where former Japanese prime minister Kishida Fumio brought the former British prime minister Rishi Sunak as the G7 Summit in 2023 took place.

5. Hanbe Garden

Not every kaiseki restaurant in Hiroshima holds a Michelin star, so Kitaoka shines from the crowd. The chef and owner of this restaurant is a big name on the Japanese food scene, having managed this place for over 40 years now. His apprentices are the top talents in the culinary world.
