Onomichi Food Guide: Where and What to Eat in Onomichi, Hiroshima

The Japanese city of Hiroshima – best known for its lush forests and refreshing hot springs – is consistently recognized in world history as one of the targets of a nuclear attack, an atomic bomb the United States dropped during World War II. But all those pandemoniums are already washed away today as Hiroshima is a peaceful tourist destination and well-ready for the future.

There are many things to do in Hiroshima, such as exploring Onomichi, its temple-filled port town. You can also temple-hop, bask in the sun at Setoda Sunset Beach, hike at Innoshima Park, and so much more.

The adrenaline rush as you discover Onomichi is quite overwhelming, so you’d want to fill your stomach with great food before, after, and even during your trip. You’re in for a treat because you’re in Hiroshima, one of Japan’s food havens.

Brace yourself for the best food in Onomichi!

It serves the city’s famous Onomichi ramen, which, unlike other bowls, has a soup made with a light soy sauce and generous portions of pork backfat on top. They also serve other Japanese favorites like gyoza and tonkatsu.
